Paul Rigby reviews and compares the 3030i speakers to the 3020i, original 3020 and Martin Logan 15i speakers
But that’s not all. I also take a closer look at those similar drivers in the Q Acoustics 3050i speakers.

Very interesting revue Paul, as always entertaining as well as informative.
My current speakers are B&W CDM1SEs, which I’m guessing must be at least 10 years old now. I like them still, but have the urge to consume upon me, and my eye dwells on the 3030is.
My question after watching, is: will a ‘budget’ modern speaker (the 3030i) out perform an aging mid-level design (the CDM1)? How far have we come in terms of speaker development do you think?

I’d go for the 3030i designs which I’d say offer superior tone balance.

2nd August 2020 at 6:04 pmHi Paul. Awesome summing up off new 3030i. I have Concept 20’s do you think the 3030i would be an upgrade.
Secondly will my Rega Brio R drive the 3030i nicely. Please test them with yours and give me your input as I would like to not necessarily upgrade amp aswell.
Regards
Peter

3rd August 2020 at 8:54 amThanks Peter – I have yet to do a full A-B on the 20s vs 3030i so take this view with a slight pinch of salt – I’d go for the 3030i speakers.
