O TURNTABLE FROM O RANGE

UK guitar amp legends, Orange continues its HiFi adventures with a brand new turntable. Which is..and isn’t

Orange, the UK outfit famed for its venerable guitar amplifiers, played, sat on and kicked over by the stars of stage and screen, recently launched itself into the HiFi realm. I have covered a couple of its recently released products in the recently released past, namely the Orange Box Bluetooth Speaker and Orange Crest Edition Mi.II Wireless Headphones. Now? Orange has announced a new turntable called the O Turntable. 

So has Orange created a turntable from scratch? Well no, of course it hasn’t. It has, in fact, talked to an established company who are tooled up for the occasion. In this case? Rega. 

The O Turntable is, in fact, a rebadged Rega Planar 1 Plus. Plus? Oh yes, because the O Turntable includes a built-in phono amplifier. 

The rebadge is very nice too. In addition to the usual Planar 1 Plus facilities and sonic qualities, you get the official Orange logo placed bottom right on the plinth. You also get an Orange platter mat. You even get the included Audio-Technica cartridge (sorry, Rega Carbon) with an Orange logo slapped onto the front, which is a nice touch.
