The new desktop-sized DX5 II DAC, preamp and headphone amp features a with fully balanced circuit and includes two ES9039Q2M Sabre DAC chips providing independent decoding of the left and right channels. Digital sound up to 32bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD512 is supported.
There are also sockets a-plenty with USB, coax and optical inputs, XLR and RCA line/preamp outputs, XLR, 4.4mm and 6.35mm headphone outputs.
Bluetooth is included based upon the LDAC codex – hurrah for that – and aptX Adaptive (up to 24bit/96kHz).
Oh and on the front, you’ll find a two-inch colour display.
A parametric EQ facility can also change the sound personality, if you’re into that.
The DX5 II is available from mid-July, price is £299.
