D7000 HEADPHONES FROM FINAL

These new headphones feature an enhanced AFDS driver technology and pinner-aligned diffuser

Which means? Think more bass. Amongst other things.

Retailing at $3,499 or £2,999, Final uses machined aluminium-magnesium alloy for the D7000 housing. So, they’re lightweight and precision made.

Soundwise? The aim was to blend the high-end output of planar magnetics with the powerful and open low frequencies of dynamic drivers.

According to the company, it has solved, “…the problem of the diaphragm coming into contact with the magnet, and it is now possible to lower the frequency of the bass tones that the driver can reproduce without distortion.”

Also? The new pinna-aligned diffuser apparently adapts to varying ear shapes and sizes. So anyone who looks like Joe Bugner after 10 typically disappointing rounds should be fine (ask your Dad).

Earpads use a Washi material, a Japanese paper, for durability, air permeability, moisture control and antibacterial/odour-eliminating properties. Check out this link if you want to know more: www.japanhouselondon.uk/read-and-watch/washi/

This stuff apparently provides a “natural openness” that utilises the bass capability of the D7000 AFDS driver. The headband also uses the material.

As part of the package? You get a case and 3m of OFC cable terminated with a 6.3mm headphone plug.
