AT33X CARTS FROM AUDIO-TECHNICA

3rd November 2025

Audio-Technica has announced the AT33x Series of moving coil cartridges

Using die-cast zinc for the first time as part of the build – specifically for its density and rigidity – the AT33x Series also features a newly developed suspension mechanism.

Hosting dual moving coils with mostly duralumin cantilevers, the chassis comprises three distinct materials: die-cast zinc as mentioned plus aluminium and high-rigidity polymer held in place by, thank goodness, threaded cartridge mounting holes.

Here’s a bit more detail:

  • AT33xEN: includes an elliptical nude stylus.

  • AT33xMLD: features a microlinear stylus.
  • AT33xMLB: this is the flagship microlinear model that incudes a boron-tapered cantilever.

It’s also great to see two mono designs: the AT33xMONO/I and AT33xMONO/II. The latter uses a samarium cobalt magnet and pure iron yoke.

Out now, starting prices are €599 or £519 for the stereo models while the mono models start at either €399/£349. We just don’t know how they end yet.
