ESOTERIC LAUNCHES T-01 TURNTABLE (NEWS)

Esoteric has launched the T-01 turntable, bringing technology from its flagship Grandioso T1 to a less expensive, if still high-end, design

The deck uses Esoteric’s contactless MagneDrive system. A magnetic driver rotates a soft-iron induction wheel beneath the platter.

With no physical connection between motor and platter, vibration is isolated.

A Magne-Float system uses magnetic repulsion, reducing the platter’s basic mass from 13kg to 4kg, lowering spindle-bearing friction. Other features include a three-layer aluminium and MDF chassis, 10MHz external clock synchronisation, 33⅓ and 45rpm speeds and ±12% adjustment.

Available from September, the T-01 costs £38,999/$46,000 without a tonearm or £41,999/$50,000 with one. A separate power supply is included for improved isolation.
