CHANGES FOR FEATURES & REVIEWS

29th July 2026

A quick update relating to how you can read future reviews and feature articles.

I am looking to introduce a few changes on the site. Whether I can maintain them, is another matter. Time may eventually defeat me. But I’ll have a go and see how things pan out. Hopefully, they can be permanent tweaks.

And those changes are?

VIDEO TO TEXT

For both HiFi News and Music Alerts, until now, you were never able to read the text for either of these features. All that was present on this site were video notifications. Pointers to the YouTube feed.

Now you can.

Thus, in future, when I post the video form, you will see a video notification. At least initially. Soon afterwards, I will then add text to that notification, effectively expanding it. So you will be able to read what’s going on, if you prefer that.

At that point I will then add an ‘Updated’ tag to the headline. You will then know that changes have occurred.

So you can see what I’m babbling on about, I have tweaked the most recent HiFi News and Music Alerts notifications with ‘Updated’ tags (HiFi News and Music Alerts just below this news item). Please check them out to see what I mean.

REVIEWS

The second change relates to reviews. Again, I tend to sort the video review first, post a notification of that then post a website/text version later. So I end up with two notifications: one video and the other text. From now on, both posts will merge into one.

CHANGES FOR FEATURES AND REVIEWS

Again, a video notification will appear first, then the later website/text version will be inserted into that notification, expanding it and providing both the video and the text versions under one roof. When completed, the video will be placed at the bottom of the text review.

This should mean that locating the review in the future should be quicker now with a single notification for each review instead of two (one a video and an another devoted to text).

Hope the above will be of some use. Thanks for reading.
