KENSINGTON AUDIO: NEW MOVING COILS

New UK outfit, Kensington Audio has announced a new range of moving coil cartridges, hand-assembled in the UK

Kensington  is part of the Talk Electronics family based in the wonderfully monikered Royal Wootton Bassett and who also handle their own tonearms, people like Edwards Audio (known for the their turntables amongst other kit) and Kestrel Audio (who also offer turntables).

The initial launches sees a set of five products including:

C500 – £599.95

A 10g cartridge that includes an aluminium cantilever and elliptical stylus with 4N OCC coils and 1.4g tracking force.

C-600 – £849.95

Another 10g design including a Boron cantilever and elliptical stylus. Same tracking force. 

C-700 – £1,499.95

Another Boron cantilever plus elliptical stylus, same weight and tracking force.

C-800 – £1,999.95

Features a Ruby cantilever, fine line elliptical and 6N OCC coils with slightly lighter tracking around 1.2g-1.3g but the same overall weight.

C-900 – £2,999.95

The flagship model features a sapphire cantilever, same stylus tip, overall weight and tracking as the 800.
