The T60RP is the latest Fostex headphone model to feature RP or ‘Regular Phase’ – a Fostex diaphragm design in use since the 70s. You’ll know it as planar magnetic
The original T50RP studio headphone is a “highly affordable, highly exploitable headphone” said the company.
The T60RP model features African mahogany wooden housing, tapered ‘around-the-ear’ ear pads and a leather head pad. Inside the cups lies Fostex’s proprietary RP diaphragm with polyimide film, copper foil etching and a neodymium magnet.
Fostex has included OFC-material cables terminated in a new straight-type connector which is detachable from the headphone housing.
A variety of optional cabling is available for the T60RP: ET-RP3.5UB (3.5mm, unbalanced); ET-RP2.5BL (2.5mm, balanced); ET-RP4.4BL (4.4mm balanced) and ET-RPXLR (XLR balanced). Each cable is composed of OFC materials with a woven polyester exterior, 1.5m in length and terminated by a gold-plated plug. Price is £249.
