SMOOTHLAN FROM STACK AUDIO
4th January 2024
Stack Audio has announced SmoothLAN, a network filter. According to the company, the idea is to remove crosstalk and interference from a network cable eliminating a potential source for parasitic noise to enter your Hi-Fi via a music streamer
Crafted from the ground up in the UK, the SmoothLAN features a machined aluminium case incorporating six fully shielded pockets, acting as barriers to isolate electronic components from each other and external disturbances.
Stack emphasise the sealed nature of the enclosure. You’ll find 20 screws in this box to removed any gaps between the shielded pockets preventing, says Stack, any compromise in performance by amplifying specific frequency ranges.
EMI absorbing materials are also embedded inside the pockets, further neutralising noise reflections from components.
Discrete components are used throughout, offering high-speed traces (the signal paths on the circuit board), with ground planes and shields between them.
In addition, each circuit on the PCB is surrounded by copper grounded to the case. This creates an effective shield against interference and ensures return currents do not interfere with neighbouring circuits.
CAT7 Connecting cable is included made from oxygen free copper with gold plated connections.
Comes in a choice of Black or Silver, the price is £240. For that, you also get a 30-day money back guarantee.
