Pro-Ject Audio Systems has teamed up with Universal Music Group to produce a new, Beatles-based, limited edition turntable
Based upon the Debut Carbon Esprit SB, it features an Ortofon 2M Red, an acrylic platter, carbon tone-arm, MDF chassis and built-in electronic speed control for easier switching between playback speeds.
The artwork for the 1964 Recordplayer shows copies of tickets and brochures from the band’s world tour beginning in June 1964.
The print was reportedly hard to produce. It was, “…only possible with special techniques. Where multiple layers and surfaces are applied. After the distribution of the ink it is dryed out instantly with special ultra-violet lights, to ensure perfectly displayed details and to offer ultimate durability,” said the company.
Limited to 2500 pieces worldwide, it is priced at €650.
