The two new cartridges are available only when supplied on one of Pro-Ject’s turntables
The new models have been designed and voiced by Pro-Ject Audio Systems but made at Ortofon’s facility in Nakskov, Denmark.
The DS2 is a new Moving Coil (MC) with nude elliptical diamond stylus and housed within a polyamide shell made using a Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) manufacturing.
The process involves using a laser to melt the housing material into a given shape.
The top-plate offers three contact-points, threaded bolt-holes, arrives in a wooden box with spare bolts and a hex key.
The S2 makes use of Ortofon’s Concorde cartridge body with a silver finish on its polycarbonate housing and elliptical diamond stylus.
The Moving Magnet (MM) can handle Ortofon OM Styli, such as the Stylus 20 or Stylus 30.
Prices are £525 for the Pick-IT DS2 and £135 for the Pick-IT S2.
