Offering a 203mm full range driver this weighty speaker (all of 80kg) from Taiwan, is made from a combination of aluminium alloy and stainless steel to retain rigidity
The central chassis, known as a compression chamber, is constructed of three concentric pipes, which was found, said the company, to be sonically superior to the standard ‘folded pipe’ system seen in standard speakers. At the top is a suspended radial diffuser cone made from wood.
Using a silver coil, the drive unit is 16 Ohm Lowther PM-4, double basin, paper cone, governed by a Alnico magnet and spanning around 225mm.
The speaker terminals, supplied by Cardas, are fixed to the base of the chassis.

4th September 2016 at 4:13 pmYes, my mistake. It is, in fact, a full range unit. I was reading text on Lowther and got the wrong end of the stick 🙂 Thanks for the heads up, I’ll correct that now.
