I’ve been a journalist and editor for 35 years and still retain my good humour. Who’d have thought? I have worked within a range of industries, writing for hundreds of national magazines and newspapers in the UK, Europe and the USA covering: aviation, music, computer technology, computer gaming, hi-fi, mobile technology, home automation, lady’s lifestyle, plastic model making, antiques and more.
I currently write for national magazines in the subjects of business, music, hi-fi and general technology.

3rd August 2022 at 2:15 amPaul, In your review of the Omnia you failed to mention that PlayFi does not support gapless playback. This has been promised regularly for the last five years and nothing has happened. This is a very major issue to anyone who wants to listen to continuous albums like Dark Side of the Moon, any opera and many classical pieces which have long movements with a lot of cue points. In fact, it is functionally useless for these listeners. There is much correspondence on the net from unhappy customers who have returned their Audiolab streamers when they discovered this problem. There are many other deep structural problems withe Play Fi and it is surprising that a manufacturer like Audiolab should choose this platform. Have a read of John Darko’s comments on the subject and simply Google Play Fi and gapless playback. I feel that you really owe it to your subscribers who may purchase the product on your recommendation only to be disappointed when they come across this problem.
