Naim will be adding Roon Ready to the Uniti: a firmware update will appear this month (October) to enable Roon
Initially the discussions centred around Roon’s back engine to assist Naim with cataloguing ripped CDs and music imports. This enabled Naim to generate and utilise crosslinks between rips, imports and Tidal streaming.
Naim however doesn’t consider this a solution for everyone. Roon Software is currently $119 per year or $499 for a life license but for music lovers with large music collections it is useful.
For those unaware of the software, Roon offers a method of browsing and organising music. It runs on most Mac, Windows and Linux PCs or on other products which include Roon Core.
Being Roon Ready means that Naim Audio’s network players transparently discover and connect to Roon without any configuration and bit-perfect audio is delivered from Roon to your network player.
