In concept, the MR1 Mk2 retains the same compact dimensions as the original MR1 but the latest design iteration has been enhanced and tweaked with extra features
First up, the speaker front covers have been replaced by a fixed integrated grille clad in a British-sourced fabric, chosen for its acoustic performance.
Further changes have also been made to MR1’s controller. It now has three pin-point LEDs to indicate system status and input.
Bluetooth with apt-X allows audio to be streamed and played wirelessly through MR1. An optical input allows add-on devices such as Chromecast Audio to be connected.
Additionally, the AUX input allows any device with a headphone or analogue output to be connected.
For customers seeking portability, the MR1 Mk2 has been designed to work with the recently launched BackPack II power pack, meaning that you can be freed from the mains power socket. Additionally, if the stereo speaker is disconnected then the control unit automatically converts to mono operation.
The 75mm mid/bass units and 20mm tweeters with neodymium motor systems remain the same but changes have been made through refinement to the loudspeaker crossover and topology of the linear Class A-B amplifiers.
Finishes include Walnut veneer or soft grey lacquer while each speaker spans 170 x 130 x 135mm and weighs in at 3.5Kg. Price is £330.

Thanks.

8th April 2018 at 10:14 amHi Scott – this page offers all of the recognised distributors – http://www.ruarkaudio.com/stockists/international-distributors
As you can see – Canada and the USA are not included. Even Amazon doesn’t stock them currently. I’m sorry I cannot help. Maybe a friendly distributor on that list might help – why not send a few enquiring emails? They may ship.
