Two more loudspeaker models receive Linn’s new Katalyst DAC Architecture
Katalyst, says Linn, offers, “…improved Data Optimisation, superior Master Clock, independent Power Supplies, a new ultra-low distortion Output Driver and crucially, for the first time, a high-stability input Reference Level.”
Available in both integrated Exakt and Passive versions, both models feature Linn’s reference 3K Driver Array and Isobarik bass system.
In the Exakt model, encased within a curved and low resonance cabinet, the Akubarik speaker is fed a single digital input from any Exakt-enabled Linn networked music player. The on-board digital crossover in each speaker delivers five independently controlled channels, each with its own volume control, DAC and power amplifier.
Linn’s integrated speakers have a specially designed module, suspension-mounted on the back of each speaker, including Exakt technology and Aktiv amplification built-in to the stand. The curved, rigid cabinet houses a “high quality” bass driver and Linn 3K Driver Array.
The stand houses the Exakt digital crossover, volume control, Linn DACs and power amplification, with a dedicated channel for each of the four drive units. Signals are passed from stand to speaker using a unique 4-way connection through the base of the cabinet, so you won’t see any messy wiring despite the complexity of the electronics.
Both systems utilise patented Space Optimisation technology, “…to enhance performance based on the acoustic properties of your room and your desired speaker placement,” said the company.
