Orchard Audio has announced GALA, in all of its upper case glory. This DAC includes a preamplifier
Based on Burr-Brown technology, the DAC is a follow on to Orchard Audio’s ApplePi DAC Kickstarter.
Manufactured in the USA and presented in a 14 gauge steel case, the DAC features PCM sample rates up to 24bit/192kHz plus balanced outputs, coaxial S/PDIF input and “support for upstream MQA decode”.
The company was rather bullish in its statement, “… users can achieve performance currently only available at much higher prices and only purchase one device where before a DAC and a preamplifier would have been needed.“ The price is $399.
