At the heart of the F500SP is a 150mm IsoFlare driver and a 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter
That 150mm bespoke multi-fibre bass/mid cone is terminated with a FyneFlute roll surround. Set in a rigid cast aluminium chassis, the low frequency motor system incorporates a separate magnet to help lower frequency performance.
Higher frequencies are handled by the 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter I mentioned earlier with a neodymium magnet system. It uses heat sinking and a vented rear chamber.
The original F500 cabinet has also been enhanced for the SP with a higher density fibreboard and BassTrax porting system using a Tact MAJISTRA800 rix profile diffuser mounted on a thick aluminium base plate.
The design also makes the F500SP, “…far less critical of room positioning than traditional rear ported standmount designs, particularly when placed on Fyne’s new matching FS6 stands,” said the company.
Crossover components and the circuit architecture have trickled down from the high end F700 model.
The F500SP is available in high gloss black and high gloss white as standard or in a new, deep gloss lacquered walnut veneer.
As for the outside grilles? The mounting for those is via concealed magnets.
The Fyne Audio F500SP is available September 2021:
- F500SP – Piano Gloss Black / White is £1,300
- F500SP – Piano Gloss Walnut Veneer is £1,500
- FS6 – Textured Black with aluminium trim: £500
