EDIFIER MR5 TRI-AMPED MONITORS 

Edifier’s new MR5 powered speakers have been designed to handle normal listening room plus near-field use

In driver terms, expect to find a new dimpled tweeter waveguide to widen the available sweet spot. That surrounds a 25mm silk dome tweeter. You also get a 127mm mid-bass unit.

Offering 110W RMS from the included trio of Class-D amplifiers, the speakers support 24bit/96kHz including Bluetooth 6.0 which allows you to connect to two devices simultaneously – which I think is the first time I’ve seen that in any HiFi device I’ve covered – via the LDAC codec, which is always nice to see.

Both XLR and TRS inputs sit along RCA and AUX inputs and tone controls. A dedicated headphone output is also included at the front. 

The speakers can be controlled via the ConneX App, price is £280.
