E1.2 MANUAL TURNTABLE FROM PRO-JECT 

According to Pro-Ject, the new E1.2 is not focused on gimmicks, just sound. For a turntable costing £249 or €329, that’s a brave statement

So you won’t find Bluetooth, USB, a built-in phono amplifier or automatic cut-off.

Compared to the original E1, the E1.2 introduces a 730g aluminium die-cast design with a built-in TPE damping ring to minimise ringing and suppress vibration. The sub-platter, as used in the Debut line, is a glass-fibre-reinforced ABS design. 

The tonearm features a heavy-mass gimbal bearing. It’s fitted with a carbon-reinforced headshell for added rigidity and a Pick it MM E cartridge – a new low-mass design with a conical stylus.

The plinth is CNC-machined from rigid composite fibre, with no hollow spaces. 

Finished in high-gloss black, satin white or walnut, there’s a single-button speed control, damping feet, OFC phono cables with gold-plated connectors and a dust cover.

I like the look of this one. Simple, straight forward, its built to do one job. Looks promising.
