DISCOGS: MY MUSIC FOR SALE

Remember I announced that I was shrinking my own music collection and was looking to sell some of it?

It was a few month’s back, you may recall. I was going to post a heap of items here. Lists of the stuff: CD, vinyl and tape. Different genres.

And then I got to thinking just how messy that was going to look and how it might interfere with the normal posts you might expect to find. So I retreated on that idea and had a think.

And then I opened a shop on Discogs. So that’s where you can find my wares for sale, right now. Link below. I currently have 289 items for sale. I have just posted an extra 58 items. More will follow.

PRICES

Prices? Well, they are aligned with the current market value. I try to position my prices in the lower area of that expected value while still taking note of rarity, condition, etc. So you will see a wide range of prices in my list. Also be aware that some LP releases come in 57 different variants where some variants are pricier than others. Hence the asking price will reflect my particular variant.

CLEANING & PACKING

You will note that all vinyl has been deep cleaned/rinsed with a Degritter Mk.II and all items have been properly graded with all imperfections noted. By the time the items get to you there may be dust on the surface but it’s only light stuff. Give each disc a quick, light clean and you’ll be fine. All vinyl features new inners although the plastic outers may be ageing. All discs and original inners are packaged outside the sleeves, protected by the plastic outer, to prevent further ‘burst’ damage during shipping. Scuffed CD cases have been replaced unless the case holds a significant item like a promo or hype sticker.

LISTEN BEFORE SALE

I also listen to everything before I post for sale (with a few exceptions, such as sealed items, which are noted in the sale entry). When posting, I use new postal packaging to maximise the safety of the item during posting. All are sent tracked too. Mostly 48 hour and via Royal Mail. Expensive items and those sent abroad demand a signature. See my ‘Sellers Terms’ on each item page for more info on that.
