CXA81 Integrated Amplifier From Cambridge Audio

The new CXA81 is an integrated amplifier packing in 80W that’s, according to the company, been “…rebuilt from the ground up.”

The CXA81 offers new features over its predecessor the CXA80. They include…

…an ESS Sabre ES9016K2M DAC, improved USB input supporting 32bit/384kHz and DSD256 quality….

…and integrated aptX HD Bluetooth receiver. So you can stream from your mobile device direct to the amp at up to 24bit/48kHz.

Out in October 2019, the new amplifier is priced at £999.

    Hi Paul,
    Would this amp be a good match with Rega RS3
    With CD player Cambridge CSC

    How well could it drive Magnepan LRS too ?

    Any thoughts in comparison to the Hegel H95 also on my short purchase list

      Hi Pierre – you’ll be fine with both speakers. I haven’t reviewed the Hegel but colleagues like it and it works well at the price point.
