New Capella 2 streaming system features streaming and more

Arriving in English Green, Oak, Astral Blue, Space White and Space Black, the new Capella 2 active wireless speaker system (featuring WiSA technology) now includes native support for Spotify Connect Lossless and Tidal  Connect.

The system is also Roon ready. An associated Hub 2 unit also gets an Ethernet port and subwoofer output. A radio-frequency, rechargeable remote is also new. 

The speakers are powered by a Cortex A53 quad-core chip running at 1.5GHz with digital signals running up to 24bit/96kHz via WiSA or 24bit/192kHz via physical sources or 16bit/192kHz via Bluetooth.

And yes, this is not just a powered speaker pairing but an active system because the Class D amplification powers the with separate 50W amplifiers and DACs for the 25mm magnesium alloy horn tweeter and 165mm natural cellulose pulp mid/bass drive. A downward-firing bass port is also included. 

Airplay is supported alongside Chromecast, Bluetooth – no codecs have been announced – and DLNA. Connections also include coax and optional, RCA, 3.5mm auxiliary and USB B plus HDMI ARC.

Price is €2499 for the complete system, S05 speaker stands will cost an extra €279 per pair.
