Mission has teamed up with Silent Angel to create its first network music player, the 778S

Inputs include dual-band Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet, together with USB-C and two USB-A ports. Outputs include balanced XLR and single-ended RCA sockets, alongside coaxial, optical and USB-A. There’s even a headphone output.

Mission and Silent Angel have integrated a custom version of Silent Angel’s streaming engine with Mission’s own circuit designs via an ARM Cortex-A72 and Cortex-A53 multi-core controlled using an app based on Silent Angel’s VitOS software.

778S STREAMER FROM MISSION

The 778S is certified Roon Ready, with RAAT (Roon Advanced Audio Transport) protocol built in. At its heart of this box lies the ES9038Q2M DAC chip plus a proprietary clock and power supply circuitry. A post-DAC active filter is also included. 

778S STREAMER FROM MISSION

The box can support up to 32bit/768kHzPCM and DSD512.

The Mission 778S network music streamer is available from late January in a choice of black or silver, priced at £799.
