AV 30 & AMP 30 FROM MARANTZ

Marantz has announced two home theatre components: the AV 30 11.4 channel AV Preamplifier and AMP 30 Power Amplifier

Including the porthole display, the fascia plates on both models feature selectable side illumination, with a fold-down front panel on the AV 30 to conceal all less-used functions when not in use. Even the remote control features backlighting.

The new AV 30 includes a SHARC (Super Harvard Architecture Single-Chip Computer) dual-core DSP chipset coupled to 32bit DACs.  Standards covered include Dolby Atmos, IMAX Enhanced, DTS:X and AURO-3D, Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room optimisation, Dirac Live, Dirac Bass Control and Dirac Active Room Treatment (ART).

Each of its seven HDMI inputs can support up to 8K/60Hz or 4K/120Hz video.

The HDAM SA-2 preamplifier stage feeds up to 11.4 channels via RCA or XLR outputs. HEOS is also included (no surprise there). 

The box is Roon Ready, supports Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth.

The description for the AMP 30 is rather prosaic in comparison: a 6-channel power amplifier with 200W into 8 Ohms. Both XLR and RCA inputs are included.
