ORCHARD AUDIO PLATE AMPLIFIER 

Orchard Audio has worked with Soundfield Audio to produce a 4-channel, 1200W plate amplifier with integrated DSP

And what is a plate amplifier, you ask? Well, it’s a first for me too. A plate amplifier is a self-contained power amp module, typically mounted directly onto the rear panel of a loudspeaker enclosure.

It integrates the amplification circuitry, input connections and a DSP with crossover controls into a single, compact unit.

Using Starkrimson technology, this plate amplifier will be installed in a Soundfield Audio 1212C full range cardioid loudspeaker with a wide dispersion planar super tweeter, 12-inch Neodymium coaxial point source main driver with ring radiator compression drive and two 12-inch subwoofers.

I haven’t seen prices as yet but expect a good few pennies.
