SP1000M A&ultima music player From Astell&Kern
27th September 2018
Astell&Kern’s new flagship high-resolution portable music player, the A&ultima SP1000M, has been launched
The new device is smaller and lighter (200g) than its big brother, the SP1000, thanks to its use of aluminium in construction and a new 104mm touchscreen display.
The body shape features Astell&Kern’s distinctive, irregular split planes and is powered by dual AK4497EQ DAC chips from Asahi Kasei, each dedicated to a single stereo channel.
The product is also equipped with an octa-core CPU and a resolution of 32bit/384kHz for PCM files and native playback of DSD256 files.
The product has an on-board memory of 128GB, which can be expanded to 528GB via microSD card. Completing the package is a USB 3.0 (C type) port for fast charging and enabling fast data transfer.
The unit arrives in a Lapis Blue finish, will be available in October and at a price of £1,999.
