is there any way to upgrade the grounded jacks turntable connection from a planar 3 to a rega amp: a higher quality grounded pair of rca jacks. than the set provided? does it need grounding at all?
I think Rega ground their decks within the left channel of their RCA cabling. That’s what I hear. Are you getting hum? If you’re going Rega to Rega that shouldn’t be an issue. And is that a Rega amp or Rega phono amp?
no hum issues. one of my record customers bought a rega io and older rega 3 . i told him he should have no problems and he should look in the box for the rega connect.
My linn had the exposed ground wire and i assumed that the rega was grounded inside the box (unexposed tone arm).
With analog i still think it’s better to let a stocking dealer handle any problems.
Hi Paul – there shouldn’t be any issues, as I say but if you or your customers ever do his an issue (and issues have occurred for a few) then give me a shout because there are options that I can suggest.
