Mono monoblock power amplifier from Audiozen
9th April 2019
Audiozen has produced a new amplifier called the Mono, based around the Si-C MOSFET. It’s a Class AB amplifier offering 200W into 8 Ohms and 400W into 4 Ohms.
The Si-C MOSFET was chosen because of its inherent “speed”, minimal input and output capacities and high thermal conductivity.
The amplifier is backed by a 625VA toroidal transformer supported by two rectifying bridges and by capacitors offering up to 25,000 mF that are stable up to 105 degrees.
You’ll also find Rhodium-plated binding posts, a “refined” RCA connector and a power socket made in Germany by Schurter.
Spanning 340 x 135 x 315mm, it weighs 12.4kg. Price is €5,200 for the pair.
