MK-5 Stand-mounted Speakers From Scansonic
16th March 2018
Scansonic’s new MK-5 is a compact two-way mini-monitor, featuring a sealed ribbon planar magnetic tweeter found in the brand’s Raidho-inspired M-series
The tweeter’s membrane is formed by a kapton-aluminum sandwich at 20μm thick.
The tweeter is partnered with a new 114mm Kevlar coned mid/bass driver (hence the ‘K’ in MK-5) with underhung magnet system.
These 7.9kg speakers with 88db sensitivty resemble Scansonic’s Raidho-inspired MB-series and are available in a choice of piano black or white finish. Out now, price, excluding stand, is £749.
You can hear Simon Griffin MD and founder of UK distributors Decent Audio, talking about the new MK-5 stand-mount speakers from last year’s Sound & vision Show HERE

Stand mounts are my favorite type of speaker. The segment has become one of the most improved segments ,after personal listening glump of what that’s become. Stand mounts are for me.
I really like these. Great trickle down speakers! Affordable for many music first audiophiles. Would be on my shortlist. But very happy with my audiovector qr1 speakers. Maybe a review of the scansonics or audiovectors?
Best regards
Geoff
