Leema Acoustics Pulse: now with 8-input DAC and uprated phono stage
13th May 2017
Leema Acoustics has reworked its Pulse amplifier adding a phono stage, aptX Bluetooth, plus a 32bit/384kHz DSD-capable DAC
With all-new casework, the fourth generation Pulse IV will form part of the newly re-launched Spectrum range.
The amplifier retains all of the original qualities but now boasts a seven-input DAC.
The DAC features a 32-bit/384kHz-DSD capable Sabre DAC with XMOS USB Type-B input and a further six digital inputs: three optical and three electrical S/PDIF plus aptX Bluetooth.
A MM/MC phono stage has been taken from Leema Essentials phono stage (£595). That phono input joins five additional line-level inputs.
A 80W design, the Pulse IV also features a front-panel-mounted headphone amplifier.
Two pairs of preamp outputs have been added plus a dedicated fixed-level record output.
Spanning 435 x 90 x 375mm, the unit weighs in at 11kg. Available in early autumn, the price will be £2,295 and offered in black/silver
