LCD-4z “Easy Drive” Headphones From Audeze
22nd May 2018
Audeze has announced the LCD-4z, a new lighter, “easier-to-drive” version of its flagship LCD4 planar magnetic headphones
Featuring all the technology of the LCD4 – which continues in the Audeze line-up – the LCD-4z is 25% lighter, thanks to a magnesium ring design.
Its voice coil, meanwhile, is a 15 Ohm design, which reportedly makes it easier to partner with portable music players and smartphones, compared to the 200 Ohm LCD4, which is best paired with a dedicated headphone amplifier.
The LCD-4z is equipped with standard 4-pin mini-XLR jacks and ships with a 6.35mm to dual 4-pin mini-XLR LCD headphone cable.
It also features a suspension-type carbon-fibre headband and comes with a travel case.
The Audeze LCD-4z headphones will be available at selected specialist audio retailers this month, priced £3,599.
