Kurbis Bluetooth Speaker From Thonet & Vander
7th August 2019
This German outfit, has released a pair of powered speakers featuring Bluetooth and HDAA cabinets
The stand-mounted speakers are constructed from HDAA wood. I’ve only really seen this high density polymer associated with Thonet & Vander. I don’t know if the company has created it, it’s certainly trade-marked. It looks like wood but I’m guessing its a variation on MDF.
The Kurbis features a 68W (RMS) amplifier, a 133mm fibre mid/bass unit and 25mm silk dome tweeter.
Equipped with Bluetooth 4.0, the Kurbis Studio Monitors can stream music directly from smartphones, tablets or laptops, and works with Amazon Echo and Google Home providing full voice control.
Weighing in at almost 9kg, the speakers are priced at £150 from Amazon and Amazon UK.
