Frans de Wit’s Signature One power amplifier: a bold statement
20th March 2017
The sound is important for any amplifier but de Wit has paid attention to the ‘look’ too. Hence, the front panel can be lit in any colour (selectable by the owner). The chassis also features embossed artwork
Inside? After seven years of development, according to the designer, you’re looking at a “Trans-conductance (current feedback) current conveyor” amplifier spotting 250W.
The internal power gain is provided by a newly developed voltage-to-current converter followed by a low-current to high-current stage.
The power stage is constructed around a pair of “balance insulated-gate Darlington’s” that combine N and P type transistors driving each rail-voltage.
Price is €42,000.
