E-Glo Petit Phono Amplifier From EAT
14th February 2019
The E-Glo Petit phono pre-amplifier is based upon a hybrid design using 12AX7 valves. It handles both MM and MC capability. Take a quick glance and, for a moment, it also looks like a reel-to-reel player!
Featuring a subsonic filter toggle switch, if required, plus a pair of inputs and outputs on the rear alongside an earth screw, the core of the unit is positioned inside an aluminium casing with wooden side panels.
“With our special designed power supply we enabled the tubes to stay ‘hot’ at all times…
…that ensures that they perform at their maximum during the entire listening session,” said the company.
The included power supply for the E-Glo is regulated and “well filtrated” using low noise J-FET (2SK209) in a quad-setup. The Input Impedance (Low) is rated at: 10, 18, 43, 75, 150, 300, 600, 1200 Ohm, Input Impedance (High) is 30, 36, 42, 47, 53, 59, 65, 75k Ohm. Load arrives at 50, 150, 270, 370, 520, 620 pF, Output Impedance is 100 Ohms while available gain is 40, 45, 50, 60, 65, 70dB.
Spanning 226 x 78 x 262mm, you can buy an E-Glo now for £1,249.

Nice to see manufacturers are making it easier to change settings without having to open a cover or from the back or bottom side of the preamp. It is one of the reasons I bought a Musical Fidelity NuVista Vinyl. Easy peasey changes.
Hi Mike – yes, I’m not a fan of DIP switches and the like either.
HI Paul, have you had the opportunity to compare the E-Glo against the Icon Audio PS-1? Ive been considering the Icon Audio and the Pure Sound P10 but this has really piqued my interest.
I haven’t I’m afraid, Robyn. I did have tentative review talks about it when it was about to be revealed but, well I’m not sure what happened. Something got in the way and it never arrived. I do hear good things about it, though.
Thanks Paul. I’m planning to pair a new phono amp with a Lyra Delos on a NAS Ace Anna arm. Have you reviewed the PS-1 or would you be able to offer an opinion on what might be the best fit?
I haven’t reviewed the PS1, Robyn but I have heard it on several occasions. It’s a excellent phono amp and heartily recommended.
Excellent thanks Paul
