Is the Degritter MkII a better over all system than the Kirmuss? 4x better to justify the cost of one?
Yes. Yes it is. But that depends on your budget and, as I say in the vid, how particular you are about the whole subject.
Hi Paul. Just finished watching your comparison of the Degritter Mk 1 and II.
My experience is much the same as yours, although I have to say that I have zero experience of the Mk I machine. Why? Simply that the Mk II became available at about the time I was able to make the purchase. This was from David Brook at MCRU.
I have said before that I am 80, and I repeat this here because why on earth should you remember? I am in pretty good nick although I did myself quite serious damage in March of last year when I fell off a stage whike I was setting up my PA system. More to the point I do have impaired hearing which afflicts many people of my age, although I am as fanatical about hearing aid quality as I am about audio equipment.
The Degritter Mk II is something I have been waiting for since RCMs just didn’t exist. The Degritter team is, as you say, the cutting edge when it comes to improving audio perfornce through cleaning. I have never heard such purity of sound, easy separation of different instruments, and their place in the very realistic sound stages. All of this varies from recording to recording, of course, but I have yet to hear a record which has not been substantially improved by an encounter with the Degritter Mk II.
Quite brilliant! and I am delighted to endorse everything you say. I have a friend (I suppose) who is negative about anything which “purports” to improve the performance of anything, and much of what he says is libellous, if anybody can be bothered . Even he had to admit that my Degritter’d vinyl is astonishingly better when compared to its previous (cleaned) stat). He’s not about to buy a Degtitter. MK i or II, although he is not averse to having his vinyl cleaned by me. On yer bike…..
🙂 Thanks for your thoughts Bob. You’re always welcome. I hope I’m in good nick when I get to 80. And watch yourself with those PA systems, eh?
