TIDAL Masters (MQA) now available on Android

5th February 2019

TIDAL, the subscription-based music streaming service, has made its Masters service available on all Android smartphones

According to TIDAL, the difference between its “HiFi” quality sound” and its “Master” quality sound is that the former, “…is still limited in its resolution, 16bit/44.1kHz. TIDAL has partnered with MQA to deliver something infinitely better, an authenticated and unbroken sound (typically 24bit/96kHz) with the highest possible resolution. As flawless as it sounded in the mastering suite.” A bit on the gushy side perhaps and I do wonder what “typically” means but, nevertheless, you’re assured of an increase in quality.

TIDAL Masters is included in TIDAL’s HiFi tier subscription, currently priced at £19.99 per month.
