Monitor Audio launch 6th Generation Silver Series

29th August 2017

The latest incarnation of the Silver series of Monitor Audio speakers has emerged, utilising trickle-down technology from the company’s Platinum speakers and the DCF filter (driver build-ring) design to produce new mid/bassdrivers and tweeters

The new 25mm C-CAM (Ceramic-Coated Aluminium/Magnesium) features a vented Neo magnet system and RST Cone profile, cast polymer driver chassis design plus HiVe II port technology, located on the back of the cabinets. Much of this technology has been integrated via research from the National Physical Laboratory. The same research has been used to create the cabinet-bracing design, coupled with, “…precision laser measurement equipment to help identify resonance nodes in cabinets…” said the company. Meanwhile, the crossovers utilise premium grade, bespoke polypropylene film capacitors, air-core and low-loss laminated steel core inductors.

Two new centre speakers, the slim Silver 50 and Silver 200, compact models are included. Apparently, they can be combined with the complementary compact Silver C150 centre speaker, which is tonally matched.  The larger Silver C350 centre now provides the ability to, “… create a no compromise home theatre system, based around the Silver 100, Silver 300 or Silver 500 models,” said the company.

The speakers will be available is black oak, walnut, rosenut and natural oak and in high gloss black lacquer and satin white finishes.

You can see the company’s new speaker range at the forthcoming Indulgence Show 2017  in D15 Libourne on the 2ndfloor.
