Marantz launch Melody Melody Media and Melody Stream

15th January 2016

Marantz is set to launch its new Melody series of network, wireless, all-in-one music systems, the £499 Melody Media (M-CR611) and £329 Melody Stream (M-CR511). Both come in mint green and black finishes.

These lifestyle network systems support Spotify Connect, as well as a host of other digital media and streaming features. The Melody Media and Stream each allow playback of music libraries stored on a NAS (Network Attached Storage) or a computer, provide access to thousands of free internet radio stations and support Apple AirPlay. Listeners can also take control via an Android and iOS compatible Marantz Hi-Fi Remote app.

The Melody Media and Stream are primed for the playback of the latest 24bit/192KHz high resolution digital audio formats including ALAC, WAV, FLAC, AIFF and DSD files. The Melody Media also offers CD, DAB/DAB+ and FM radio playback (the slimmer Melody Stream does not feature these playback options, as it is instead dedicated to the connected digital media).

These systems feature a simple ‘one-push’ Wi-Fi connect. In fact, Wi-Fi itself has been upgraded to high speed 11n. New Bluetooth with NFC boasts further connectivity options and iDevices can be hooked up via a front facing USB port, with the Melody Media offering an extra rear port for convenience. The Melody Media also has two digital inputs for connection to a TV.

With a 60W power output, the two network systems with the Melody Media offers a bi-amping option.
