The new LX2-HPA headphone amplifier reportedly offers a high current delivery while the LX2-LPS  phono amplifier offers both MM and MC plus adjustable impedance

Two new products from Musical Fidelity is the LX2 range includes headphone and phono amplifiers. Apart from the specs, there’s not a great deal of information. What I can tell you, though, is:

The HPA headphone amplifier offers distortion at, “…less than 0.0035%, wide band…” said the company while bandwidth extends, “…to about 80kHz,” with a noise ratio of, “…better than 112dB…”

Priced at £299, the chassis offers a volume knob, gain switch, a pair of RCA inputs and outputs plus two headphone outs, at 3.5mm and 6.3mm. A good thing, in may book as it means there’s no demand for sonic crushing plug adaptors. Spanning 197 x 172 46.5mm, it weighs in a 1.05kg.

The LPS phono amplifier handles both MM and MC formats but provides connections for both which means that, in theory, two turntables can connect to it simultaneously. The company declared that, “The noise ratio on both MM (better than 82dB) and MC (better than 72dB)…” combines with distortion at, “…less than 0.007% across the audio band.” MC covers 100 Ohms with an input sensitivity of 300μV.
