Audio Hungary APX 200 valve-based power amplifier

The successor to the company’s own BEAG APX 100, the valve-based stereo power amp, the Qualiton APX 200 is, says the company, particularly suited to operate with low impedance speakers

Running at 100W, the frequency response of the power amp is fully linear  and, according to the company, “The low frequency breakpoint of the frequency response is 15Hz, the upper cutoff frequency is 100 kHz (-3 dB points).”

While, “…the total harmonic distortion is less than 1% and the signal-to-noise ratio of the appliance is typically higher than 101dB.”

To help valve life, the unit is equipped with a slow-start circuit and an anode voltage delay circuit.

Packing in four 6P45S, two 6N23P and two 12AX7LP valves, the APX 200 weighs in at just under 30kg.
