A7 Loudspeaker From Spendor

11th June 2018

Spendor has looked at the D7 and A6R when it created this latest speaker design, the A7

At the heart of the A7 is a new Spendor designed and engineered 180mm bass-mid drive unit. It features an EP77 polymer cone and new surround and suspension materials.

The crossover network has, “… precision wound high linearity tapped inductors which avoid the distortion introduced by attenuating resistors…” said the company.

A 22mm wide-surround tweeter has a, “… unique diaphragm profile…” and comes with a protective mesh grille.

Dynamic Damping is also included. Small low mass constrained polymer dampers have been fitted at key energy interface points to, “…convert any spurious energy in the cabinet into inaudible heat.”

Internal silver plated pure copper cables arrive with a halogen free dielectric. The base of the plinth has four machined steel stabiliser inserts. The stabilisers are secured directly into the main structure of the cabinet so that, “…micro-movement or flexing of the plinth and feet is eliminated.”
