Dali announces it’s new Spektor range: not as spooky as you might think

26th January 2017

Dali has announced its new Spektor speaker range, a four-strong series

Highlights of the range includes a dome tweeter that sees a heritage link from the higher-end Dali speaker series. The tweeter is based on an ultra-lightweight weaved fabric, which weighs less than half of the market standard (0.056 mg/mm2).

For the mid/bass, Dali has a ‘low-loss’ driver design made of low-mass paper with wood fibre reinforcement. The embedded wood fibre cones gives the surface an uneven stucture (see the close up image below for confirmation), which apparently minimizes the resonance of the surface.

SPEKTOR 1

The ultra-compact speaker in the range. Built around a 114mm wood fibre woofer and a 21mm soft dome tweeter.

SPEKTOR 2

Offers a larger inner volume, delivering extra bass performance. The increased surface areas of the 133mm woofer and 25mm soft dome tweeter increases the overall sound pressure levels, making this a choice for larger rooms that still require a compact speaker.

SPEKTOR 6

Built around two 165mm woofers and a 25mm soft dome tweeter, this is a large floor-standing speaker.
